Rick’s interest in economics and the capital markets was sparked during a Political Science degree at Carleton University in Ottawa, Ontario. It was there he began to understand the relationships between government, economics, and business that have inspired his enduring interest in capital markets. Rick is also an alumnus of the Strategic Coach™ Program for entrepreneurs where he advances his skills for coaching clients.
Rick is an avid cyclist and skier. He rode his bike across Canada after completing university and currently competes in World Masters cross-country ski races.
Recently, he was honoured to be named the founding patron of the renamed “Rick Morson Nordic Ski School”. He has devoted hundreds of hours of volunteer time as well as tens of thousands of dollars over the past 20+ years – mostly focused on the ski school and ensuring equal opportunity for local children to experience the wonder and joy of getting outdoors in winter.
He also enjoys spending time with Susan, his children, and his grandchildren and regularly consumes books on history and politics.
