Meet our team

Richard Herman CIM®
Portfolio Manager, Investment Advisor

Richard brings nearly 40 years of experience in the investment industry to every interaction. Over the course of his career, he’s guided clients from the early stages of their career and family life through to retirement and the passing of wealth and legacy onto the next generation. That connection with clients is what drives him every day.

Richard began his career at a major financial institution and worked at a large wealth management firm before joining Richardson Wealth in search of an independent and entrepreneurial culture that allowed The Herman Team to provide clients with unbiased advice, lower fees, sophisticated technology, and insightful research. Many relationships he built early in his career are still clients today.

Richard graduated from the University of Ottawa with an Honours BA in Economics and is fully bilingual. He has the Level II Life Insurance license and remains active in the community by supporting the United Way, the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario. He also offers a University of Ottawa bursary.

When he’s not supporting clients and his community, Richard likes to hike or ski in Tremblant, play golf and travel.

Cliff was always drawn to a career in finance. At 13, he was already working and actively saving, opening his first investment portfolio at 18. He’s played a pivotal role in The Herman Team since joining the firm in 2004, thriving off the satisfaction of helping clients achieve their financial goals and navigate the unique phases of their life.

Patrick Herman
Associate

Patrick brings a unique perspective to the multi-generational team. His days are divided between managing client accounts, one-to-one interactions, portfolio trading and research. In his short year and a half with The Herman Team, Patrick has become a critical part of helping clients achieve their goals.

Interested in the industry from a young age, Patrick pursued an Honours BA in Economics with a focus in Management from the University of Ottawa. While courses in financial econometrics, macroeconomics, and statistics helped lay the foundation, working in the industry with clients and their unique needs convinced Patrick it’s the right career for him.

In addition to his BA in Economics, Patrick has completed the Canadian Securities Course (CSC) and the Conduct and Practices Handbook  course (CPH) and has recently completed the Wealth Management Essentials course (WME).

In his spare time, Patrick enjoys everything the outdoors has to offer including camping, mountain biking in Gatineau Park, skiing Tremblant, going for hikes with his dog, Lola, and playing golf.
