As an Investment Advisor, Dan’s passion for financial planning is apparent in the deep, personal relationships he builds with clients. He sees it as a privilege to guide clients through the most important financial decisions of their lives.
After graduating from St. Cloud State University in Minnesota with a Bachelor of Science majoring in both commerce and economics, Dan joined a boutique investment bank in Minneapolis, Minnesota, managing the trading desk. When a family health scare prompted him to return to his hometown of Winnipeg in 2006, he took a position as a relationship manager and product manager at a financial planning software company which exposed him to the planner-client relationship. This inspired him to leave the firm, obtain his Certified Financial Planning (CFP) designation and embark on a career working directly with clients helping them achieve their financial goals. Dan is also a Registered Retirement Consultant (RRC). Dan worked as a financial planner at two major banks for over ten years, joining Richardson Wealth in 2024.
Dan and his wife Jen met through fostering dogs and their involvement with pet rescues, Manitoba Underdogs and Great Pyrenees Rescue. They have two dogs and one cat, all three are rescues. Dan was the Treasurer of the Manitoba Wheelchair Sports Association from June 2014 to November 2021. Dan enjoys gardening and cooking; nothing from the garden goes to waste, he even makes his own hot sauce using various peppers, including Carolina reapers and scorpion peppers. Dan is passionate about staying active through strength training and sports, he plays goalie in the winter, is an avid table tennis player, and tries to golf regularly in the summer. He is a proud member of the Larters at St. Andrews Golf Course. He’s also a graduate of St. Paul’s High School.
