Canadian Women’s Foundation — has a very simple yet focused mandate, raise women out of poverty, get women out of danger and get them educated. Kathy was invited in 2011 to attend the annual breakfast as a guest. She contributed a donation and then asked “what can I do to help”. The next year McMillan Wealth Solutions bought a table at the breakfast, stepped up to a sponsorship role the following year and then took on selling the corporate tables about the same time.

Canadian Women’s Foundation funds programs across Canada. The programs address four urgent issues: prevention of gender-based violence, women’s economic development, girls’ empowerment and inclusive leadership.

Institute of Advanced Financial Planners —The IAFP is committed to bringing value to the public and honour to the financial planning profession by ensuring the highest level of excellence and ethics to the industry. To accomplish this goal the board of directors is made up of volunteer IAFP members who have attained the R.F.P. designation.

Kathy started in this industry nearly 30 years ago and knew it was a lifetime of education. She started with a mutual funds license, then her insurance license, then her CFP designation. The R.F.P. designation is more intense then the CFP and it means we are thoughtful, thorough planners and that all our clients have a plan. Kathy believes our clients need and deserve top notch education and commitment from Kathy and subsequently the team. Kathy believes that if we are going to be serious about this business, then we need to take it very seriously. It is a huge fiduciary duty and an immense honor to service our clients.
