Kate partners with clients to understand their goals and develop strategies that help them move through times of transition and growth. Growing up on B.C.’s tightly knit Salt Spring Island informed Kate’s idea of community, instilling a sense of empathy and curiosity she brings to her practice. She has an affinity for numbers and analysis, and helping clients make impactful choices is what drives her.
After graduating from Dalhousie University with a degree in commerce and major in finance, Kate worked in project management with the Canadian International Development Agency in Tanzania and the head office of Adidas Group in Germany before transitioning into financial services in 2014. She spent the next few years as a wealth manager at several major financial institutions in Toronto before starting her practice at Richardson Wealth.
Kate has her Chartered Investment Management (CIM) Designation, Certified Financial Planning (CFP) Designation, Insurance Accreditation, and is in the process of completing her Trust and Estate Practitioner (TEP) designation. She has been featured in the Globe and Mail, Wealth Professionals Magazine and has hosted various podcasts to support further education in the industry.
She’s passionate about her community, supporting the Women's Equity Lab in Victoria and championing local charities. Beyond the office, Kate spends her time with her husband, their son and extended family. She likes to travel and stay active by hiking, biking, running, playing soccer and tennis.
