In a recent update with the managers at Slate Asset Management, we learned that Canadian REITs are significantly outperforming U.S. REITs year-to-date. This is due to deeper “value” stock in Canada. The U.S. tends to be more fully valued. Investors are still seeking real estate investments, but they are getting pickier on how much they are willing to pay.
The managers like the recent price volatility, as it creates opportunities, giving them improved entry points for new investments.
