PIMCO MONTHLY INCOME FUND - Q1 UPDATE

We have invested with Pimco for many years and enjoyed positive returns and a steady income stream. For the first time, we are seeing short term negative performance. As we wrote about in our recent Fixed Income Update, this is not unexpected for the simple reason that bond prices have an inverse relationship to interest rates. This means that in a rising rate environment, bond prices will experience volatility, presenting a challenge for all fixed income managers.
